When is a challenge classed as an epic challenge?! So today I am delighted to say I completed the Bantham Swoosh. The culmination of being able to find a real love of swimming over the last few years… So what made this challenge epic?? I would say because it had a few interesting ingredients…1) I have never swum this far before (circa 6km) and I certainly didn’t manage to fit the ‘training’ in, 2) I knew I would need to do a chunk of front crawl in order to go the distance at an ok pace (and usually I like breastroke!) 3) I had to get down to Devon from Dorset and get up at 4.30am to make the coach to the start point!! and 4) As soon as I knew I would be doing the Bantham Swoosh (a few months ago) I had been looking forward to it ever since! 5) The event will have raised over 250k to help disabled children learn to swim. This made it an ‘epic’ challenge as it was about setting out for a slightly unpredictable and worthwhile adventure. All the things which make achieving the challenge soooo rewarding! So I wonder what the NEXT epic challenge might be? While I think about that, I am making the most of the whole experience with some quality time; enjoying the moment in wonderful Salcombe….
