Advent is closed today, Wednesday, June 19th in observance of #Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas with the news that the Civil War had ended and that all enslaved people were now free. This momentous event occurred more than two years after President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. We you to take time on this day to learn more about the history and significance of Juneteenth.
