Did you know there are just as many gamers aged 18 and under as there are over the age of 45? ESA President and CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis joined Northeastern University’s Bob De Schutter and Activision's Jordan Shlachter in a conversation moderated by NPR’s Guy Raz on the AARP AgeTech Collaboration Stage at CES this week to discuss age-friendly design and accessibility in gaming. Accessibility in Gaming: Accessibility in gaming refers to the design and implementation of features that enable players with disabilities to fully participate in and enjoy gaming experiences. This includes options for customizable controls, adjustable difficulty levels, text-to-speech functionality, and colorblind-friendly settings. 🎮 Playing video games with only the mind? 🧠 Twitch streamer Perri Karyal (username Perrikaryal) is breaking mind-body barriers by playing video games using only her brain. Using an EEG device to translate her brain activity into game commands, Perri has mastered titles like Elden Ring and Minecraft without traditional controllers. “The mind-control training — figuring out which visualizations would work — that took me the longest, and you only really find out that they don’t work once you’re 700 trials in. Then you have to start again, which is painful,” Perri said. Her journey showcases the potential for technology to create more accessible gaming experiences. Check out her inspiring story in the article linked below and see the future of gaming unfold! https://lnkd.in/efYzrcrZ
