- In this video, we explore the key principles of team dynamics. Just because a group of people happen to be in the same place on an organizational chart, doesn't make them a team or even a dysfunctional team. A team is a group of people who agree to work together in a teaming manner. That is, they agree to collaborate with and support each other to achieve a shared purpose. Teams are a special kind of group. In a group, people have a common purpose. Like for example, everyone in a study group might want to pass their own exams in a team. The purpose is larger than those of the individuals members are willing to put aside their own priorities to help a colleague. With a colleague's task is more important to achieving the purpose. Teams also have more structured communications and a higher degree of interdependency. A lot of effort gets wasted in organizations trying to force a group of people to be a team when there's no added value from doing so. At the same time, a few individuals…
