- Okay, another approach with that same pattern, that same four stroke, I call it Billy Cobham pattern, and roll or, or style is what I try to do is incorporate that same pattern to other parts of the kit. The cymbals, different toms, hi-hat splashes, and it's something that that I use quite a bit. Once again, I use this quite a bit. And I'll give you a few examples of some of the things that some of ways I use this four stroke roll. One of the ways is I'll start out with a groove or a fill that I use on a couple of songs. One of the songs is "41" as a matter of fact. In the live version of "41," Leroy is taking a solo and in the climax of the solo I go into this four stroke, Billy Cobham kind of fill and what I'm going to do is use the right cymbal and the China Boys as well as the kick drums or the double pedals to back up the cymbals and come down on the snare, with this four stroke rolling.…
