We are seeking a skilled and experienced developer to join our dynamic team of Hunters. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, customizing and maintaining WordPress and WIX websites. The developer will work closely with our design, content and marketing teams to create user-friendly, visually appealing and secure websites that meet our clients' needs. Our preferred candidate would be based in Columbus, Ohio; however, we are open to considering remote arrangements for exceptionally qualified individuals.
Key Responsibilities
Website Development:
Build, customize and maintain WordPress/WIX websites from start to finish.
Convert design mockups into fully functional websites.
Develop and integrate custom plugins and functionalities.
Ensure responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
Site Maintenance:
Perform regular updates to WordPress core, themes and plugins.
Monitor website performance and pull reporting information for marketing teams.
Troubleshoot and resolve website issues and bugs promptly.
Conduct regular backups and implement recovery procedures.
Security Management:
Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect websites from threats and vulnerabilities.
Regularly scan and monitor for security breaches and malware.
Update security protocols and patches as needed.
Educate team members and clients on best practices for website security.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with designers, marketers and other developers to ensure projects meet design and functionality requirements.
Provide technical support and training to clients and team members.
Ensure development hours remain within scope and hit project objectives.
Participate in project planning and provide accurate time and cost estimates.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for website features, updates and security measures.
Generate and present regular reports on website performance, maintenance activities and security status.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a WordPress and front-end developer.
Experience with WordPress website security tools and practices.
Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP.
Experience with WordPress theme and plugin development.
Familiarity with front-end frameworks and libraries (e.g., Bootstrap, jQuery).
Knowledge of SEO best practices.
Understanding of website performance optimization techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Ability to work directly with creative and marketing stakeholders
Degree or relevant industry experience in computer science, web development or related field.
Experience with e-commerce platforms and integrations (e.g., WooCommerce).
Knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, FIGMA and Sketch).
