Technical Producer

Role: Technical Producer (TP)

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Overview: In collaboration with Event Producer and Engineering, the Technical Producer ensures the effective and reliable use of technology for every event. They are the navigators of 'how', orchestrating how our equipment and systems meet the event’s needs.

Pre-Event: They collaborate with the EIC, Streaming, the Live Producer, and other departments to plan the technical execution of the event. This includes suggesting the most effective operational methods and deciding on the appropriate technology and equipment.

During the Event: They oversee the technical operations and work closely with the EIC, Streaming and Live Operations to quickly address any technical issues, ensuring the event runs smoothly. When necessary the Technical Producer will fill qualified technical roles as needed due to staffing requirements.

Post-Event: They create issue tickets related to issues experienced during live events for Engineering, Streaming and other teams to address. The Technical Producer will also be responsible for addressing any technical show notes and ensuring the facility is prepared for the next production.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage day-to-day operations.
• Work closely with the live producer to align operational strategies and goals.
• Act as the primary point of contact between Live Producers, Engineering, Live Operations, Streaming and Technicians.
• Collaborate with producers to identify show requirements and allocate technical resources and crew as needed, outlining detailed show technical requirements for global team reference.
• The Technical Producer will assist the producer in selecting the most appropriate technical solution from the available options.
• Recommend operational workflows or personal methodologies that enhance efficiency for specific live events.
• Establish a standard checklist for technical setup and rehearsals to ensure quality assurance
• Coordinating with Engineering, Streaming and Live Operations execute pre-live technical checklist testing (“facs out” of transmission, audio/video, captioning, etc) .
• Partner with Engineering, Streaming and Live Operations to facilitate the resolution of technical challenges, providing resolutions, and establishing clear timelines for resolution.
• Keep producers informed about any operational challenges, proposed solutions, and progress timelines.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Streaming and Live Operations to ensure all equipment is in proper working order.
• Ensure that all operational teams have the most recent content from Live Producers, partners, or post-production.
