Position Purpose

The Systems Administrator maintains and supports the company’s IT systems, infrastructure, employees, and associates. Individual will configure, maintain and support systems that will further the goals of the cooperative; maintain the security and redundancy of all MBG information systems; review, upgrade and support MBG’s on-premise hardware and cloud infrastructure; perform all network, security and database administration functions.

Primary Accountabilities And Responsibilities

  • Provide first call resolution whenever possible
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, networking, communication, and system issues when they arise
  • Configure and maintain internal infrastructure including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, printers, VOIP, desk/mobile phones, internet, intranet, LANs, & WANs
  • Primary responsibility for administration of Microsoft O365 and email environment
  • Day-to-day administration, backup, and maintenance of SQL database systems
  • Ensure security of the organization's systems and information assets for both on-premises and cloud environments
  • Configure, maintain, and monitor backup operations and disaster recovery systems
  • Maintain and support audio-visual equipment and conferencing tools
  • Designs and implements infrastructure solutions to meet business and technical objectives
  • Work to gather technology requirements, implement policies, standards, security, and establish best practices
  • Determining root causes of system, network, and hardware issues. Provide answers, investigate problems, document solutions, and provide training to system users as required
  • Part of the core team to lead the development and implementation of value-added efficiencies through system integration and automation
  • Provide management with Service Desk reporting and advise on ways to improve stability and downtime cost reduction on the desktops and network
  • Responsible for prioritizing service desk calls according to business impact

Secondary Accountabilities And Responsibilities

  • Collects and communicates business/technical requirements for project requests among technical and non-technical audiences including but not limited to management and external vendors
  • Collaborate with application development team to ensure the timely and effective delivery of supporting infrastructure services for new applications and enhancements
  • Assists the IT Management team with developing vendor relationships, including reviewing, approving, and reconciling account invoices
  • Assists the IT Management team with project scheduling, requirements research and documentation
  • Creates, analyzes, documents and communicates project summaries and status updates regularly to project team members and leadership across the organization as appropriate

Quantitative Data/Job Dimensions

  • Maintain IT systems at multiple offices and operational facilities: desktops, laptops, servers, tablets, cellphones, switches, wireless networks, firewalls and printers
  • Configure, deploy, maintain and improve the Windows server environment on-premises and in cloud
  • Maintain Active Directory users, groups, sites and GPO
  • Maintain multiple security systems across all domains, including application and database security, network security, access controls, firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection
  • Responsible for assisting other IT personnel in the support of users at additional locations in North America
  • Shared responsibility with Systems Analyst peers for tier 1 support of hardware and software resolution for approximately 100 company users
  • Travel to train and support users. Travel is up to 10% during the harvest season (both in and out of state) and 5% during the non-harvest period
  • Must be available for 24x7 support (rotation schedule)

Qualification And Skills Required

  • Ability to commute/relocate to Grand Junction, MI 49056. Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems preferred or equivalent experience and certifications
  • 4+ years of professional experience in an IT environment with increasing responsibilities
  • Proficient with Windows Server, Active Directory, networking (DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN), IIS and Hyper-V
  • Experienced with Azure AD, O365 administration, enterprise security and hybrid infrastructure environments
  • Experience administrating SQL Server databases, including tuning, backups, and troubleshooting
  • Proficient with Cisco router and firewall management
  • Experience with food manufacturing, distribution, & warehousing enterprise systems a plus
  • Highly focused customer service skills
  • Able to work as part of a team and independently
  • Must have outstanding organizational skills
  • Must have valid driver’s license
