The System Director of Supply Chain Operations is responsible for the daily operations of all supply chain functions conducted within the system for all hospital and clinic facilities. Supply chain functions include, but are not limited to, inventory management, vendor relationship management, managing supply expense, all purchasing activity, ERP management, item master management and maintenance and field operational support. The SSCD is directly responsible for supply chain operations in the OR, IR, Cath lab and other areas where applicable. The SSCD is directly responsible for all of the warehouse and fleet operations. The Director of Supply Chain Operations integrates the department's services with the hospitals and clinics primary functions, develops/implements policies and procedures that guide or support services, assesses and improves system supply chain management performance.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage all facility (acute and non-acute) Supply Chain operations activities
Manage the profit and loss of the facility Supply Chain operations
Execute the infrastructure project plan for the facility. This includes the implementation of the standardization programs for all supply chain functions, item master file standardization, requisitioning, purchasing, receiving, shipping, distribution and EDI
Manage disaster supplies and processes ensuring facility/facilities are prepared for disasters
Manages total system supply spend
Facilitate the implementation of continuous improvement purchasing projects at the facility
Execute the implementation and operational plan for all of the point of use systems
Coordinate, manage, and evaluate facility Supply Chain personnel
Create a supportive environment for supply chain staff development and the delivery of supply chain solutions
Raise and resolve facility based supply chain issues and improvement opportunities
Coordinate and drive efforts to enable supply improvement initiatives to succeed within the facility
Facilitate the standardization of products and optimize supply utilization through effective collaboration with Physicians, Clinicians and VA team.
Develop and execute a continuous improvement program for supply chain functions
Ensure useful knowledge is captured and promote sharing of information
Recommends sufficient number of qualified/competent staff
Determines staff qualifications and competence
Develops and maintains accurate initial and annual competency checklists, and initiates completion of initial and annual competency,
Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care of the services delivered
Attends in-service presentations, and complete mandatory education week including, but not limited to, infection control, patient safety, quality improvements, MSDS and OSHA Standards
Demonstrates knowledge of occurrence reporting system and utilizes system to report potential patient safety issues
Manages off site warehouse, fleet and distribution
Manages purchasing and receiving activities for contracted support companies
Operational Responsibilities
Lead and manage all Baptist facility Supply Chain operations activities
Build and maintain strategic working relationship with the Clinical leadership to assist and consult in all supply concerns
Collaborates with OR leadership to optimize supply storage, replenishment, and restocking processes
Build environment of continuous improvement in supply chain processes
Collaborate with Clinical Director, OR Director and other key stakeholders on Supply Chain OR/Surgical Service initiatives
Lead and manage Supply Chain Surgical Services Support
Manages off site Warehouse, Distribution and Fleet
Manage inventory turns to HC acceptable levels
Manage and support all ERP operational functions and education of SC team members
Requirements, Preferences And Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Logistics or Supply Chain or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree
10 years leadership experience in Health Care Supply Chain Management
Physical Requirements - .
Work requires little or no manual effort. Lifting or performing other work requiring physical exertion (up to 80 pounds) is intermittent (not a routine part of the job) and secondary to the job.
