Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities

The Systems Administrator’s Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Performs the deployment of system and security patches in a timely and complete manner
  • Performs addition, removal, changes to users within systems in a timely and complete manner
  • Performs updates to Active Directory’s GPO settings, including logon scripts, Internet Settings, and Windows security settings.
  • Design, configuration, and maintenance of the Citrix XenDesktop environment that the Bank uses.
  • Assist with design, configuration, and maintenance of the Virtual Machine environment using VMware Virtualization Technology.
  • Design, configuration, and maintenance of Axiom’s Disaster Recovery site.
  • Provides maintenance and support of the Bank’s systems, including Office 365, Core System, FTP, Active Directory, etc.
  • Maintains network servers such as file servers, FTP Servers, IIS, domain controllers, and print servers.
  • Manage and perform backup and recovery tasks
  • Maintains inventory of computer assets, phones, and ancillary IT equipment.
  • Independently coordinates with system vendors to resolve system issues.
  • Investigates system issues and provides recommendations for resolution to the IT Supervisor.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems with IT infrastructure including user systems, servers, storage and network connectivity (LAN, WAN, wireless).
  • Supports and maintains the hardware and software infrastructure used by the Bank with a target of zero unplanned downtime.
  • Consistently observe security best practices in the deployment of all responsibilities.
  • Analyze user needs and recommend appropriate hardware and software solutions.
  • Appropriately prioritizes requests to the helpdesk by business function and business effect.
  • Ensures that escalated tickets are recorded, managed and closed appropriately and in a timely manner in the help desk ticketing system.
  • Update knowledge and skills to keep up with rapid advancements in computer technology.
  • Attend seminars, workshops, and conferences as necessary to maintain and further expand PC/LAN expertise within the identified areas of responsibility.

Working Conditions

  • This position is performed in a regular office work environment setting. Will require bending and reaching, and will spend considerable time in front of a computer screen and analyzing information; may require lifting up to 50 lbs., and visual acuity. The incumbent will be expected to be able to work Monday through Friday and work will mainly be performed at the Maitland location; occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Flexibility with work location and hours may be granted if circumstances permit.

  • Must be willing to travel to various locations.

Qualifications Summary

Education

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • A+ Essentials Class Completion
  • Network + COMPTIA Class completion

Experience

  • 2-3 Years of experience with Active Directory
  • 1-2 Years of experience with Microsoft Exchange/Office 365
  • 2-3 Years of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
  • 2-3 Years of Microsoft Office (Current Versions)
  • 1-2 Years of Microsoft Windows Desktop Support Experience
  • 1-2 Years of Backup System Operation
  • Experience with general troubleshooting practices concerning desktop PC’s.
  • 2-3 Years of experience with Citrix XenDesktop and VMWare
  • 1-2 Years of SQL Administration

Knowledge & Skills

  • Hands-on technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop operating systems and application software.
  • Hands-on technical knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of common computing terminology and practices. Strong problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail. Strong customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply good judgement and consistently observe best practice security protocols.
