SVP of Technology

We currently have a new career opportunity for a full-time SVP of Technology based out of our corporate office (Enterprise) in Appleton, WI! After initial onboarding onsite, this position could have the opportunity for hybrid (3+ days onsite/week, 2 remote) work consideration.

The SVP of Technology (IT)is responsible for the overall leadership and execution of Fox Communities Credit Union's technology area. You will lead a multi-faceted team of 20+ IT professionals, ensuring our technology infrastructure remains secure, reliable, and supports the credit union's ambitious growth plans. You will also prioritize the team’s engagement, growth, and development while ensuring they have the knowledge and tools to succeed. This role requires a collaborative leader with a passion for innovation and a proven track record of success in managing complex IT environments.

The primary responsibilities of the SVP of Technology role include but are not limited to:

Team Leadership And Development

  • Promoting and upholding the Fox Purpose, Mission, Vision, and Values, stewarding our intentional culture
  • Engaging, developing, and supporting your team by being a leader of leaders, focusing on coaching and development of your direct leaders in support of their overall leadership and professional growth and development goals
  • Hiring, monitoring, and supporting development for the team, providing daily performance and growth and development coaching to team members
  • Fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and professional growth

Technology Execution

  • Partner with the CIO and business leaders to develop a comprehensive IT roadmap and budget that supports the credit union's short and long-term objectives
  • Oversee the management and optimization of all enterprise IT systems, infrastructure, and applications, ensuring they meet the needs of the organization and align with industry best practices
  • Leverage data analytics to gain insights and improve decision-making throughout the team
  • Drive the creation and implementation of a robust architecture framework and Solutions Architecture role, focusing on the designing and implementation of scalable, secure, and cloud-ready technology solutions, leveraging industry best practices and technologies
  • Lead the creation and implementation of Agile development practices, both internal and with third parties, focused on building custom applications and integrations to enhance member experience and internal operations
  • Leverage DevOps practices to streamline collaboration between development and operations teams and improve speed and quality of software delivery
  • Establish and oversee production control practices to ensure system stability, minimize downtime, and deliver exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders

Vendor Management, Budgeting, And Cost Management

  • Cultivate strong relationships with key IT vendors, obtain competitive bids (RFPs), negotiate favorable contracts, and ensure the credit union receives the best possible value
  • Developing and managing the technology operational, capital, and fixed asset budgets, including forecasting expenses, monitoring costs, and identifying areas for cost-savings initiatives
  • Engage with critical vendors and conduct regular vendor performance evaluations to ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards

Collaboration & Innovation

  • Collaborate closely with the Information Security Officer to ensure alignment of technology initiatives with security protocols and standards. Partner with the Information Security function to address any technology-related security concerns and contribute to the development of a robust cybersecurity posture
  • Collaborate with other business lines to ensure technology initiatives are well-aligned with overall business goals and identify opportunities for technology-driven innovation and process improvement
  • Partner with all teams to enhance and maintain robust disaster recovery that works within business continuity plans. Conduct regular drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of these plans and ensure readiness to mitigate disruptions to operations
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices through continuous learning and participation in professional development opportunities
  • Spearhead initiatives to foster a culture of innovation within the technology team, including the setup of innovation labs and the promotion of experimentation with emerging technologies seeking operational efficiencies or competitive advantages. Implement innovation frameworks such as Design Thinking or Agile methodologies to drive continuous improvement and creativity in technology solutions
  • Identifying and evaluating artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) for potential applications within the credit union

Project Management & Compliance

  • Lead the planning, execution, and successful completion of critical IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget
  • Maintain strict adherence to all relevant IT security regulations, data privacy laws, and compliance standards

Candidates For The SVP Of Technology Position Should Possess

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred
  • Prior experience with industry certifications (e.g., PMP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is a plus
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in IT leadership roles, with a proven track record of managing complex IT environments
  • Understanding of credit union or banking operations, systems and vendors
  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT systems, infrastructure, including Microsoft Azure, Cisco solutions, and core banking platforms
  • Experience building and managing high-performing IT teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the development and implementation of technology solutions
  • Experience with IT project management methodologies and best practices
  • Deep understanding of IT security principles and compliance requirements
