Sr. Accountant

Job Overview

North Wind is a dynamic and growing company with a team-oriented culture. We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This role involves comprehensive accounting tasks, such as reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, and assisting in financial reporting. This role is crucial in ensuring adherence to accounting standards and company policies.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable:

· Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reimbursement.

· Process credit card transactions and monthly credit card reconciliations.

Accounts Receivable:

· Prepare and submit customer invoices and supporting documentation in compliance with milestones and contract terms.

· Monitor invoice approval process and follow up with customers as needed.

· Assist with monthly reconciliation between accounting software and CRM.

Accounting:

· Perform month-end procedures: prepare monthly journal entries including payroll, accruals, inventory, etc.

· Assist in the preparation of month-end reporting, including assisting with the calculation of key performance indicators (KPIs).

· Assist with account reconciliations: bank, investments, credit card, and other such as prepaid expenses or liability accounts.

· Maintain fixed asset backup support.

· Support the organization with other projects and requests as needed.

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

Experience:

· 5+ years’ experience in accounting.

· Knowledge of and use of Deltek/GCS/Visual Manufacturing

· Solid understanding of GAAP

· Proficient with MS Office, specifically Excel

· Experience utilizing and implementing other software systems is a plus.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· High attention to detail and accurate data entry skills necessary.

· Ability to manage sensitive information and ensure the confidentiality and integrity of company information and data.

· Keen sense of urgency and results-orientation.

· Able to work as an effective team member on part of a team.
