Title: Senior Project Accountant

Schedule: Hybrid

Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000

At A Glance:

This is a confidential search for a high-level global real estate client here in the Greater Raleigh, NC area.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accuracy of journal entries and general ledger, manage cash functions including monitoring transactions, recording entries, and reconciling bank accounts.
• Administer leases by setting up new leases, preparing tenant billings, and managing recovery profiles; prepare operating and tax reconciliations.
• Record and review journal entries to ensure GAAP compliance; perform month-end close procedures and account reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing annual plans, budgets, and projections; maintain reporting and budgeting calendars.
• Prepare information for various audits (external, internal, tenant); prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Assist in setting up new projects including property setup in accounting software, bank account openings, and acquisition accounting; ensure internal controls compliance.
• Handle ACH/wire relationship requests; coordinate A/R processes including analysis, collections, aging reviews, and tenant communications.
• Oversee A/P functions such as issuing checks, setting up wire/ACH payments, maintaining vendor files, and handling inquiries.

Qualifications:

• Two+ years full cycle accounting experience, within commercial real estate industry
• Public accounting background, ideally worked with real estate clients
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited institution.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA or on track to obtain CPA
• Experience with mixed-use developments and owners’ associations is a plus.
