The Senior Director, Enterprise Architect leads a team to measure & analyze enterprise architecture performance to define and execute the technology strategy for BIC’s Americas region, contributing to a global Enterprise Architecture community of practice. The role plays a key role in establishing safe, collaborative, and effective approaches to solutions within IT and for Brother as a whole, applying governance practice to maintain investment initiatives without impeding speed of adoption and use, and promoting productivity improvement of product development. This role manages a small team of Solution Architects to execute on this functional area. Analysis, Requirements Gathering, IT Platform Scoring, Technology Portfolio Ownership, Technology Strategy, Implementation Methodology, Technology Capability, Governance are the vehicles used to establish and sustain high performing solutions at acceptable cost. Partnering across IT globally and aligning with Strategic initiatives, the role analyzes, designs, plans, implements and sustains foundational technology platforms while reducing cost.




  • What You’ll Do




  • Enterprise Analysis

    • Perform research analysis identifying Fit/Gap capabilities & capacity constraints.
    • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for the improvement in the exiting architect.
    • Define future-state architecture goals, principals, and roadmaps to align with business objectives.
    • Provide guidance and expertise in selecting appropriate technologies and solutions to address business needs.
    • Gather and document BIC requirements providing in technology solution recommendations.
    • Perform technology platform scoring ensuring performance & reliability are sustainable.


    Executive Leadership

    • Provide strategic direction and thought leadership in enterprise architecture to senior leadership and executive teams.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of architects, providing guidance, feedback, and performance evaluation.
    • Lead Architecture Governance ensuring compliance to Strategy.
    • Plan and manage Architecture initiatives.
    • Administer progress reports and time management duties.


    Collaboration and Strategy

    • Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments, including IT, operations, and business units, to understand their technology requirements and challenges.
    • Facilitate cross-functional discussions to define enterprise-wide technology standards, frameworks, and best practices.
    • Own the Technology Portfolio supporting good decision making.
    • Acquire, validate, and customize Implementation Methodology to increase project success.
    • Participate in IT related initiatives and meetings.



  • About Our Ideal Candidate




  • Education

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Related Field
    • Master's Degree in Engineering or Business Operations (Preferred)


    Experience

    • Minimum 12 years A combination of experience spanning the following areas:
    • Enterprise Architect with large enterprise.
    • Experience working in enterprise architecture roles, with a deep understanding of architecture principles, frameworks, and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman)
    • Ability to conduct thorough analysis of complex technology landscapes, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and develop actionable recommendations for improvement.


    Licenses & Certifications

    • The Open Group Certified - TOGAF Certified (Preferred)

    • Enterprise Architecture Management tools
    • Microsoft Office Applications
    • SAP S4 Hana (Preferred)
    • (CRM) Customer Relationship Management Platforms (Preferred)

  • Additional Details For This Role




  • This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by managers.

    • The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $240,000 - $260,000 per year.
    • Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data.
    • This position is eligible to participate in the relevant Brother variable pay incentive plan(s). Applicable bonus awards are discretionary and contingent upon 1) achievement of your individual objectives and 2) Brother achieving its corporate and business-level objectives.
