Responsibilities

Baker Tilly’s Public Sector Education team consults for schools in the Midwest. We are looking to add a team member who has an entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for problem solving, and the desire to be a lifelong learner.

What You Will Do

  • Assist on financial consulting projects for K-12 schools through financial management reporting and forecasting, budget preparation and analysis, capital project planning, comprehensive financial planning, and related client services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Gathering data
  • Preparing financial reports, research, and analysis
  • Participating in client and working group meetings
  • Presenting information to groups and clients
  • Learn and grow from direct on the job coaching and mentoring along with participating in firm wide learning and development programs
  • Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients
  • Enjoy friendships, social activities and team outings that encourage a work-life balance
  • Occasionally travel post-COVID, mostly same-day travel within the state.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance/public finance, Public Affairs, Data Analytics or Related field
  • Two (2) to (3) years’ experience in a related field preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, Word, and Power Point applications
  • Skilled in presenting technical and/or financial information
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals
  • The ability and willingness to travel and attend evening meetings
  • A desire to work within the Public Sector industry
  • Individuals with strong attention to detail, a desire to learn, a high degree of analytical ability, and outstanding communication skills
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S., without sponsorship, highly preferred
