About The Team And Position

The Safe & Secure Operations Remote Team (SSORT) helps to keep our 20,000+ associates, who work at our 200+ various locations, safe and secure every day. By collaborating with various Carvana teams and external partners the SSORT ensures that a strategic plan is in place so that our security technology is innovative and efficient, that each site has the proper physical security infrastructure to meet our risk mitigation needs, that we provide proactive and reactive monitoring measures to support our sites, and that we utilize data and protocol to manage all events that pose risk to our business. In partnership with the Field Safe & Secure Team and the Enterprise Support Safe & Secure Team- the SSORT is an integral part of how we ensure the safety and security of all associates every day at every site.

The Safe and Secure Technology Senior Administrator will support internal and external customers with technical issues and needs related to the safety and security of Carvana team members and assets. The senior administrator will help troubleshoot, identify, and execute solutions via multiple mediums. This team member will also juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and support continuous improvement efforts.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support everything related to our Safe and Secure technology!
  • Be a subject matter expert in your field.
  • Supervisory and Managerial duties of the Safe and Secure Field Technician. This will include recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new associates to ensure their acclimation success.
  • Provide clear expectations and support to the Field Technician through consistent coaching, providing follow-up, and problem-solving to situations that may arise.
  • Ensure an effective Field Technician schedule is in place to properly meet Technology Team projects.
  • Monitor the Field Technicians KPI’s to evaluate associate performance and institute action plans to address lagging KPI performance.
  • Independent discretion and judgment with fielding, troubleshooting, and resolving all Safe & Secure third-party repairs.
  • Perform daily critical system audits and ensure all gates, gate cameras, intercoms, and thermal cameras are online and functioning.
  • Triage all tier-three tickets that affect the operations of the business to a substantial degree as well as the Operations Center to ensure production is not compromised.
  • Flexibility to respond to urgent/critical incidents outside of standard business hours correspondence with vendors as well as our Operations Center partners.
    • This would include the ability to formulate, affect, interpret or implement changes as deemed necessary while the vendor is on-site completing repairs.
  • Responsible for all new site programming and setup.
  • Work on large-scale projects and system improvements that affect the end users.
  • Communicate a daily update to our leadership team concerning the status and progress of our device health.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Should Know/have

This is a client-facing support role. The qualifying candidate must be enthusiastic, and energetic and must take pride in helping people solve their Safe and Secure technology problems. Service with a smile is a requirement!

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Interest in leading and developing a team
  • 4-6 years of experience in the technical/physical security technology support field.
  • Intermediate skills in administering Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP, and other network services.
  • Advanced experience with CCTV, Access Control, and Alarm Monitoring systems; a big plus if you have experience with Slack, Confluence, Cisco Meraki Appliances, and Jira.
  • Genetec Certification is a plus.
  • Ability to blend creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills to support end-users.
  • Provide a top-notch customer service experience.
  • The ability to effectively communicate with remote users via phone or email and troubleshoot problems using remote connectivity tools or sometimes in the blind.
  • Possess an understanding of enterprise network environments.
