Want to lend your skills to an amazing team, working towards making a real-world impact? GoFundMe is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This position reports to the Senior Accounting Manager and will be responsible for key areas of financial reporting, accounting system ownership, and process improvement initiatives.


The Job…


  • Accounting Systems - Ownership of key accounting systems’ design, build/configuration, optimization and maintenance to drive team efficiency & enhancements while maintaining compliance and reporting integrity.
  • Reporting - Manage preparation of the month-end financial package and quarterly external reporting deliverables. Assist with balance sheet and P&L flux analyses.
  • Process Improvements - Scale and implement internal control process improvements and department procedure documentations. Identify areas for optimization and drive implementation of initiatives to support efficiency.
  • Audit and Statutory Support - Act as key liaison for external audits and by preparing supporting schedules, locating documents, and responding to inquiries.
  • General Ledger - Prepare monthly journal entries for technical accounting focus areas, including goodwill/intangibles, leases, and debt.
  • Collaboration - Be a trusted business partner & work closely with external teams & contribute to other departments’ goals and duties as needed.


You…


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • CPA preferred; Experience at a Big Four Firm a plus.
  • 4+ years combined accounting experience, including a publicly-traded company or pre-IPO company.
  • Strong experience and knowledge in U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance
  • Experience with an ERP system, NetSuite a plus.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment to proactively drive results - quick to learn and adjust accordingly
  • Strong drive to continually improve everything (workpapers, processes, yourself!)
  • Thorough and able to effectively organize and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Confidence, good judgment, energy and personality to work in a dynamic environment across all levels of management and across functions.
