Project Facilitator (Temporary Position) Grant Funded - 21st Century Community Learning Center Program

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, or a related discipline required. Master’s

degree in a related subject area and a minimum of three years of teaching experience preferred. Excellent

oral and written communication skills, organizational and public relations skills are essential. Experience

with giving multimedia presentations is essential. Experience with grant and program management,

development of a budget, and the tracking of expenditures is preferred. Must have an in-depth knowledge

of and experience with successful teaching techniques, instructional materials, Virginia’s Standards of

Learning, and current Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requirements. Must have the ability to work with

families, teachers, school administrators, and business/community partners to help promote student

achievement. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Must be able to work efficiently under minimum day-to-day supervision and to effectively handle multiple

assignments simultaneously. Experience with the supervision and training of adult employees and working

with youth is preferred. Must have some knowledge of how to develop community partnerships, and how to

recruit and coordinate volunteers. Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet,

Intranet and E-mail applications.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: Works nonstandard hours after school and on Saturdays depending

on an established work schedule. Plans, implements, markets, and evaluates the 21st Century Community

Learning Center Grant. Develops collaborative partnerships and provides ongoing support to the 21st

Century Community Learning Center’s goals, objectives, and timetable of specific activities, tasks, and

responsibilities. Provides training opportunities for program stakeholders. Supervises and evaluates the

employees assigned to the program. Conducts assessments, markets results, and implements appropriate

program changes and adjustments. Recruits participants and informs the public of program opportunities.

Manages program budget and keeps accurate financial records. Prepares necessary reports for school

and central administration. Performs other related duties as assigned.

GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK: Performs professional work overseeing the

planning, implementation, and evaluation of the goals and objectives of the 21st Century Community

Learning Center. Work requires vocal communication for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the

spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is

required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data.

REPORTS TO: Site Director and Principal

LENGTH OF CONTRACT: This is a temporary position and can be terminated at any time by Richmond

Public Schools. This is a grant-funded position and it is contingent upon the availability of funds.

START DATE: Based on School Board approval
