Operational Technology Network Engineer

Title: Operational Technology Network Engineer (mainly onsite)

Location: Gainesville, FL - LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY

Earliest Start Date: ASAP

Type: Temporary Project

Estimated Duration: 6 months with possible extension (s)

Work authorization: any (candidate must be authorized to work in US)

Must-have skills: +y of work exp in the USA for H1B visa holders; 2+ y of network security exp; Cisco; CCNA or CCWA or CCVA; FortiGate or Palo Alto or F5 or any other firewalls ; energy or Energy Systems Secure Network (ESSN environment); LAN, WAN, IP networks using, routers, switches, VLANs, VPN, DMZ, Certificate, PKI access knowledge, IPS and IDS security tools.

Additional information: The candidate should be able to provide an ID if the interview is requested. The candidate interviewing must be the same individual who will be assigned to work with our client.

Requirements

  • Availability to work on the Client’s site in Gainesville, FL (required);
  • Experience in at least two of the following areas: data communications, computer networks/systems/security, communication projects;
  • Experience with communication/data networks; fiber optics, voice processing and video processing and radio transmission systems;
  • Hands-on experience with network administration, physical and electronic security, disaster/recovery techniques and problem solving;
  • Experience with firewalls, VPN, intrusion detection systems, cryptography systems, biometrics, log file analysis, anti-virus software and all other network security activities;
  • Experience with Energy Systems Secure Network (ESSN);
  • Experience with LANs, WANs, Wireless LANs, IVR and IP networks, VLANs;
  • Experience working with technical manuals, schematics and blueprints;
  • Cisco certification or equivalent nationally and industry recognized certifications (preferred);
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License;

Preferred

  • Experience with Unix, Linux and Mac OSX

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following

  • Observe all proper and safe work practices and use of tools, communication and testing equipment to ensure the safety of systems, hardware, self and others.
  • Work without direct supervision.
  • Creatively and effectively solve hardware and software systems issues.
  • Work effectively with coworkers and the general public.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity when dealing with customers and systems to instill trust and to maintain security.
  • Possess certain physical abilities and be able to withstand work related environmental conditions (hazardous conditions, moderate heat and confined areas, tasks outdoors under varying climatic conditions, environments with varying noise levels
  • On-call work is required. May require working outside regular business hours, including nights, weekends and holidays
