Job Purpose
A Software Integration Engineer for Canoo’s R3Pi Systems Team will be responsible for ensuring firmware support for new vehicle features and hardware is documented, designed, implemented and tested. They will work cross functionally with Program mangers and Engineers to understand new component-level hardware changes and how they impact software integration along with project timelines.
Responsibilities (80s Of The Position)
Design cross-functional features that require coordination between new devices and existing ECUs.
Work collaboratively across mechanical, systems, electrical and software team to ensure new features are seamlessly introduced to our vehicles.
Develop validation strategy for features and improvements.
Lead and manage integration of initial prototype systems.
Manage code revisions and release notes for new features.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Experience with C or C++ required. Must have strong comprehension of fundamentals of software engineering
Ability to interpret system data and analyze logs for failure and debugging purposes
Hands-on technical experience debugging complex systems involving electrical or mechanical devices
Preferred Experience
Experience with CAN, LIN or Vector tools
Experience with Python
Understanding of low voltage and high voltage circuits
Ability to read and interpret wire diagrams and circuit schematics
Travel Requirements
