Summary

This position will be responsible for building profitable volume with national customers to meet and exceed annual financial targets. They will be responsible to develop customer growth strategies that include a 2–3 year planning/selling cycle. Travel expectations 50-60%. This position can be located anywhere in the US.


Essential Functions

  • Achieve or exceed assigned sales quota by brand and in total for each Customer and territory.
  • Develop strong business relationships at key accounts with personnel above the buyer level culminating in Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with top volume customers.
  • Aggressively solicit orders (either direct, or via brokers) from present and prospective new direct accounts for our entire line of products.
  • Cover account assignment in an effective and efficient manner ensuring proper quality and frequency of needed coverage.
  • Collaborate with the RSD and Sales team to ensure complete coverage of account base.
  • Complete, on a timely basis, contribution reports, RFQ’s, and Pricing updates.
  • Penetrate all levels of assigned accounts through multiple departments (i.e. buying, logistics, service and replenishment).
  • Track and resolve all sales-related customer deductions in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Authorize returned goods in accordance with company policy.
  • Develop sales forecasts by account and brand.
  • Operate within assigned selling expense and trade budgets.
  • Develop and submit proposals for special trade programs at selected accounts as necessary.
  • Ensure correct pricing at all accounts and follow up on past due payments as necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date customer records in accordance with company instructions.
  • Work with Marketing and Product Management on competitive products and merchandising practices.
  • Prepare and submit call and expense reports as required.
  • Submit any special reports regarding the operation of the territory, acceptance of products, or competitive conditions as may be requested including Account level POS information.
  • Recommend the addition of new products and the modification or PLS of present products as appropriate.


Position Qualifications


Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or related field, preferred.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience within proactive packaging steel/metals and stretch films industry.
  • Experience selling to steel and metals service centers
  • Must be able to travel 50% - 60%. Must live at a major airport.

Other Physical Requirements


Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, an individual is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.


While performing essential functions, this role occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat and/or cold, risk of electric shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.


Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, etc.).
