The Digital Platforms & User Experience department at FedPoint focuses on providing outstanding user experiences for our customer-facing self-service websites. We leverage research and data analysis to gain insights into customer behavior, guiding our digital product strategies and decisions. Our team is dedicated to balancing customer satisfaction, business goals, and compliance standards in all our initiatives.

As the Manager, Digital Platforms & User Experience, you will oversee a talented team of UX designers, UI developers, content designers, user researchers, and data analysts. This role involves managing daily operations, driving website initiatives, and ensuring exceptional online user experiences across FedPoint’s web applications. The manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve business/revenue objectives, meet compliance requirements, and fulfill customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management (50%)

  • Oversee daily operations of the Digital Platforms & User Experience department.
  • Manage workflows, intakes, and outputs to ensure quality, timely, and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Utilize tools like Jira and Confluence to manage design sprints and align with overall development priorities.
  • Lead the iterative website design process from user research to implementation and measurement.
  • Oversee website data analytics and user research programs, partnering with internal teams to share insights.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of reports and data analysis to senior leadership and clients.
  • Maintain and develop department artifacts, including design systems, style guides, templates, personas, and journey maps.
  • Coach staff in delivering information architecture, visual design, user flows, and interactive wireframes.
  • Ensure FedPoint web platforms are optimized for desktop and mobile and compliant with Section 508 and WCAG standards.
  • Build credibility and rapport with internal and external clients, advocating for user-centered design and data-driven decision-making.
  • Stay current on trends in UX, UI design, data analytics, agile development, and relevant business topics.

Staff and Budget Management (45%)

  • Manage a team of UX designers, UI developers, content designers, researchers, and data analysts.
  • Foster a continuous-learning culture with regular check-ins, career development, and professional training.
  • Prioritize team workflow and tasks, ensuring quality and timely project completion.
  • Manage vendor relationships and assess the marketplace for value solutions.
  • Maintain accurate and applicable employee job descriptions and ensure ongoing staff training.
  • Provide input to the annual department budget and manage to established budgets.
  • Write and deliver staff performance reviews.
  • Model professionalism, collaboration, and communication skills, promoting enterprise thinking and focus.

Special Projects (5%)

  • Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, technology, design, or related field required. Additional certifications or coursework in human-factors, user experience design, website development, or digital product management preferred.
  • Must have 3+ years experience managing user experience design and/or user interface development teams for e-commerce sites or similar role.
  • Must have 3+ years experience managing a website data analytics program or equivalent.
  • Must have 3+ years prior experience overseeing user research and customer feedback programs or equivalent
  • Must understand and be able to speak knowledgeably about user experience and interface design concepts, techniques, and best practices, including information architecture, usability, performance design, responsive design, personas, journey-mapping, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, etc.
  • Must be familiar with W3C standards and accessibility best practices. Section 508 compliance requirements preferred.
  • Must understand Google’s Marketing Platform tools, especially GA4, GTM, Looker Studio, Campaign Manager, etc.
  • Experience managing expenditures against an established budget preferred.

📍 Location: Our office is located in Portsmouth, NH. – This is a HYBRID role requiring a minimum of 2 in-office days.
