What You’ll Be Doing

The Manager of Education & Training reports to the Senior Director of Education & Training and is a member of the Education & Training department. The Manager of Education & Training provides leadership, support, and direct supervision to members of the Education and Training department. This position ensures that all education and training programs and functions are consistent with the mission and core values of the agency. The Manager of Education & Training assists in the planning and coordination of education programming for youth and adult learners, which includes community education workshops and the department’s youth programming (LiFT, STARS, Beyond the Birds and the Bees, Teen Night, and Teen Clinic). The Manager of Education & Training is responsible for the direct supervision of the department’s Youth Development Specialists & Educators. This position will facilitate community education workshops, professional development workshops, and trainings as needed.

Essential Job Functions

  • Supervises and provides coaching and mentoring to Education & Training staff in order to implement high quality programming related to sexuality/sexual health to youth, parents, and adults in a variety of settings, including virtual programs delivered online.
  • Maintaining direct contact with team members and ensuring team members have the necessary training, tools, and resources to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of their given role. This includes ongoing, continual, two-way feedback with staff members to identify and remove barriers to success and create useful systems based on their input.
  • Assures that obstacles to customer service within the staff's sphere of influence get prioritized and addressed, and the obstacles outside their sphere of influence are brought to the appropriate forum.
  • Identifies, develops and maintains external contacts with individuals, organizations, and community agencies to promote and enhance their relationship with PPSNE.
  • Markets Education & Training programming to community partners and professional networks and seeks innovative ways to keep programming for adult learners visible, innovative, and growing.
  • Provides curriculum and resource consultation to schools and community-based organizations regarding sexuality education.
  • Ensures agency is represented appropriately in local communities and shares information about our services and programs.
  • Supports and encourages a culture that provides a rich conduit of information and ideas between sites and departments; participates in ongoing feedback with colleagues, customers and processes; incorporates customer satisfaction into all aspects of the work; and encourages team to take responsibility for evaluating and improving systems.
  • Assists Senior Director of Education & Training in routinely analyzing data to ensure that the direction of the department is sound, financially on-track, and in alignment with the Agency's core values.
  • Expands the team's perspective by communicating a clear understanding for the "bigger picture" and the direction of the organization.
  • Completes administrative duties including collecting and filing data related to programming and community outreach, maintaining and distributing Education & Training materials and tools, and updating and purchasing curricula as needed.

Key Requirements

  • Passionate commitment to the mission, vision, and values of PPSNE.
  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced study in a related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience providing sexual health education in community-based settings. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities strongly desired.
  • Proven track record of fostering community partnerships.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and superb attention to detail.
  • Ability to initiate new programs.
  • At least two years providing direct supervision; or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and experience can be acquired.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with community partners and co-workers.
  • Experience utilizing digital platforms, such as Google Classrooms or Zoom, for presenting information is strongly desired.
  • Excellent skills gathering, managing, and interpreting data.
  • Superb skills in relationship-building, both with individuals and teams/groups.
  • Ability to anticipate and take proactive steps to meet department needs.
  • Ability to handle discreet, confidential information.
  • Ability to operate all office equipment; expertise with Windows based software, data management programs, spreadsheets, and video conferencing platforms.
  • Superior customer service skills including recovery skills for when clients (internal or external) express dissatisfaction or problems arise.
  • Demonstrated commitment and passion for equity and inclusion with an understanding of the role racial inequity plays in our society.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to travel to programs, events, and meetings as required.
  • Bilingual Proficiency (Spanish/English); desired but not required.

$49,988 - $83,313 a year

This positions salary range* is MIN: $49,988 MID: $66,651 MAX: $83,313 and is based on full years of experience
