The Production Team Member will be trained to operate our proprietary Precision Microcasting™ equipment, extrusion presses, wire draw benches, spooling, and packaging machines. They will also assist with preventive and reactive maintenance duties. This position requires the flexibility to work 40 hours per week. We typically do not work weekends. The Production Team Member reports directly to the Production Team Leader.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work from work instructions and follow routers, corrective actions and other forms of written, verbal, and visual instruction.
  • Maintain and operate equipment to meet production schedules and shipping deadlines.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area.
  • Maintain adequate inventories of spare parts and equipment.
  • Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to Production Team Leader.
  • Ensure that all equipment is kept in a proper and safe working condition.
  • Practice proper forklift operation and preventive maintenance.
  • Communicate with all plant and office personnel.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment that is not operating properly.
  • Assist with Kapp Alloy team projects.
  • Effectively manage your time and performance.

Job Skills:

This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:

  • Basic math skills including fractions and percentages.
  • Basic industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing and pneumatic skills including troubleshooting.
  • Understand purpose and proper use of small hand and power tools.
  • Understand the use and calibration of measuring devices – calipers, micrometers, and scales.
  • Understanding of Kapp Alloy manufacturing processes including troubleshooting.
  • Strong time management and task prioritization skills.
  • Inventory management.
  • Self-motivation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work and communicate with other plant personnel.
  • Basic computer skills.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • High School/Vocational School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Preferred experience as a manufacturing line operator or similar training and experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee will lift and move heavy items, which will require the ability to repeatedly lift 30 pounds to a height of 4 feet.
  • The employee will be moving around, which will require the ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours.
  • The employee will be handling materials daily, which requires the ability to use hands, arms and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods.
