IT Technician/Coordinator

Onsite location: Fremont, MI

Initial term: 18 months (position expected to run longer)

Company: Fortune 100 food & beverage/consumer packaged goods

Description:


Will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining the reliability and functionality of computer hardware, software, database, and network systems. Coordination and resolution of user requests related to computer hardware and software issues. Provide support for office users and systems when necessary.


Will provide information systems support for day-to-day admin needs in conjunction with the IT Service Desk; troubleshoot network/application/hardware related issues; support factory and category initiatives that drive continuous improvement. Will be responsible for learning all the practices and procedures for the IT department and provide support for IT and Factory initiatives as required.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot in-house office related computer hardware, software, and multi-media systems. Provide office users/systems support (iPad, Onboarding). 70%

• Assist in the maintenance of accurate & up to date audit records of plant hardware. (Asset Management). May Perform purchase requests for systems related hardware and miscellaneous IT items.5%

• Provide demand-based technical support including off-hours support as per departmental rotation schedule. Coordinate hardware repairs with vendors as needed. 5%

• Participate in cross-functional process improvement teams to drive plant performance through improved processes and system performance. (Product Group). Can assist and provide IT support on small projects. 5%

• Maintain working knowledge of Corporate Compliance & System Standards and Guidelines. Ensure adherence to IT Compliance Guidelines and FAS requirements at the factory. 5%

• Maintain working knowledge of plant process controls environment to ensure hardware/software compatibility. 5%

• Participate in local safety program and required factory training. 5%


REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION


• Associate’s degree in Computer Science, IT Management, or 2+ years of equivalent experience.

• This position requires the ability to support end users throughout a large factory/office, including being mobile within the factory based on where the issue is located. On occasion, this may require you to be present in locations with fluctuating temperatures (freezer with temperatures below 20 degrees or factory areas with temperatures above 90 degrees). Candidate must be comfortable doing this - with or without accommodation.


EXPERIENCE: (Two or more of the following)


• Systems operations (PC)

• Phone System administration and maintenance (Alcatel, Skype, Cisco, Teams EV, Avaya – any of these would be a plus)

• Windows operating systems

• Apple iOS (iPADs)


SKILLS:


• Systems operations, internet/intranet related concepts.

• Support computer hardware, software, and printers in an office and manufacturing environment.
