The director oversees a team of over 20 FTEs on a daily basis, ensuring the efficient operation and coordination of clinical and retail services. The Director is responsible for overseeing the operational efficiency of pharmacy systems on a daily basis across the medical center and its clinics. This includes administering optimal pharmaceutical care to patients. They supervise technical and assistant director pharmacy personnel, ensuring smooth pharmacy operations and promptly addressing any issues through rigorous quality control measures.
In addition to managing day-to-day operations, the Director plays a pivotal role in the initiation, maintenance, and oversight of the hospital and clinic formulary system. They disseminate essential drug information to health care professionals and patients, manage Pharmacy computer systems, and enforce stringent security protocols for medications throughout the medical facilities. The Director collaborates closely with department directors, hospital administration, and other health care personnel to optimize pharmacy services. They take proactive steps to address challenges within the department and oversee interactions between pharmacy staff, hospital personnel, and the public.
