Coordinates the planning and implementation of an Infection Prevention Program designed to prevent and control the transmission of infections in the Medical Center. He/she has the authority to institute any surveillance, prevention and control measures or studies when there is reason to believe that a patient or personnel may be at risk. The coordinator works under the guidance of the manager, the Infection Prevention Committee and its chairperson. He/she assumes responsibility for infection prevention and control activities in the absence of the Manager of Infection Prevention.

**Job Essentials- The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies:**
Previous experience and expertise in first line management position commensurate with the clinical demands of the position (1-3 years).
Broad-based clinical exposure.
Knowledge, understanding and experience with the practices and principles of Infection Prevention.
Demonstrated analytical ability to interpret data/statistics, determine areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with all constituents (including patients, families, physicians, payors, external facilities, other departments, staff).
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
Master's Degree in Nursing or other Health-Related field preferred.
License, Registration, Certification
Current NJ State Nursing Licensure required.
Certification as CIC.
