The Indirect Tax team is looking for an Indirect Tax Accountant to join their team. The team supports the America’s compliance of all indirect taxes, including sales/use, VAT, business & occupational, property, and escheat and business licenses, ensuring that taxes are collected and paid in accordance to the relevant tax laws. They also support business initiatives by providing subject matter expertise related to indirect taxes; the Tax Department needs to understand all business activities within Nintendo's organization.

This role is critical to stay compliant with tax laws. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a clear understanding of accounting and tax concepts, with the knowledge required for preparing and filing federal, state, local and foreign indirect tax returns, have a strong attention to detail, and display skills to work under tight deadlines. Candidates will work in a collaborative environment and can take ownership of their work.

Description Of Duties

  • Prepares State and local tax returns and related schedules.
  • Assists with tax research and planning.
  • Compiles data and creates documentation to assist with tax projects.
  • Prepares monthly tax accruals and reconciles general ledger accounts.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all corporate indirect tax returns and other information provided to taxing agencies.
  • Maintains various tax software systems and updates.
  • Coordinates maintenance of exemptions/resale certificates and pertinent records.

Summary Of Requirements

  • A minimum of two to three (2-3) years of related experience.
  • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency using PC-based tax processing and spreadsheet and research software (Microsoft Excel, RIA, & BNA).
  • Experience using Vertex or other related sales tax software preferred.
  • Requires basic knowledge of accounting and tax theories.
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or equivalent education and experience.

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.

This position includes a base salary range of $77,500 - $124,000 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
