HR Benefits Coordinator

As the HR Benefits Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing our employee experience through the administration and coordination of comprehensive benefits programs. You'll assist with benefit enrollments, manage employee inquiries, handle LOAs and Worker Compensation claims, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with both internal stakeholders and external vendors, perfect for a detail-oriented individual with outstanding organizational skills and strong communication abilities.

The HR Benefits Coordinator Will

  • Assist with the administration of various employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, flexible spending accounts (FSAs), and wellness initiatives.
  • Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations accurately and in a timely manner, utilizing HRIS and benefits administration software.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, coverage options, plan details, and enrollment procedures.
  • Assist with the Leave of Absence (LOA), and workers compensation processes including accommodation requests.
  • Liaise with benefit plan providers, insurance carriers, brokers, and other external vendors to facilitate the delivery of benefits services and resolve employee inquiries.
  • Stay informed about relevant federal, state, and local regulations governing employee benefits, including but not limited to ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and FMLA.
  • Assist with compliance-related activities, such as annual reporting, disclosures, filings, and audits, ensuring that benefit programs adhere to legal requirements and industry standards.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of annual open enrollment activities, including preparing communication materials, conducting employee meetings, and coordinating enrollment processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees during the open enrollment period, helping them understand their options and make informed decisions about their benefits.
  • Contribute to the development and dissemination of benefit-related communications, including newsletters, email updates, and internal postings, to keep employees informed about benefit programs, changes, and deadlines.
  • Maintain and manage legal postings in each location to ensure compliance

The Ideal Candidate Has

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR Management, Psychology, or related field preferred
  • Proven experience (1-2 years) in an HR Administrator, Coordinator, or related role, with benefits administration experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practice relating to benefits
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity
  • Experience with Google Workspace, HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) or other relevant software applications is preferred
  • PHR, or similar certification preferred
