Private events in the tasting room, sales events, and off-site marketing events all drive crucial revenue and brand education to achieve our common goal of success.
The person in the role will sell and execute private events in the tasting room, manage inquiries, organize, and execute tasting and marketing events around Louisiana.
Primary Responsibilities
▪ Responsible for selling, planning, organizing and overseeing private events booked in the tasting room.
▪ Accurately report all event revenue.
▪ Plan, coordinate, staff and execute promotional tastings at local off-site events, including the farmer’s market, LSU tailgates, and all other events as needed.
▪ Manage our weekly participation in Red Stick Farmer’s Market, including staffing, planning, communication, inventory and cash audit.
▪ Communicate social media needs with the Social Media Manager.
▪ Gain extensive knowledge of Oxbow Rum Distillery’s spirits, our sugarcane farm and mill, and production methods while having the ability to thoroughly educate and concisely communicate our story and products to guests and clients.
▪ Achieve private event targets while staying within budget and controlling costs.
▪ Manage and facilitate local auction and donation inquiries.
Secondary Responsibilities
▪ Support the Tasting Room Manager in creating a positive guest experience for all events, including but not limited to event preparation and facility upkeep.
▪ Help ensure the guest facilities are kept clean and always organized to maintain a presentable environment.
▪ Answer phones politely, conduct phone orders, and record thorough messages to be emailed to the appropriate persons.
▪ Perform any other duties as assigned by a supervisor, and assist other departments and employees as needed
Qualifications
Minimum: 4+ years of event and/or hospitality management
Responsible Vendor Bar Card
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Strong organizational skills
Relationships in the local hospitality industry a plus
Attention to detail
Exceptional customer service and communication skills
Knowledge of food, beverage, and hospitality industries
Enthusiastic and Energetic
A true “go-getter”
Able to pursue and secure event bookings from local businesses, groups, etc.
Have a general understanding of spirits and alcohol production
Provide premier hospitality during private and off-site events
