We are currently in search of a Grants Manager for a dynamic nonprofit organization fighting domestic and sexual violence. The position is based in Bridgeport, CT (Hybrid - 3 days in office). This is a full-time permanent position.

DURATION: Full-time, Permanent

SALARY: $75k - $80k

Under the direction of the Chief Development Officer and in-line with the agency’s strategic plan, this position provides leadership, management, and support related to all public, corporate and foundation grants. This includes relationship development and management with new and existing funding; facilitating program development, expansion, and sustainability; improving quality standards through evaluation and promising practices; and creating a collaborative work environment to enhance professional development.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan ahead, anticipate problems and resolve conflicts.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows (Word, Excel) and data management applications.

How You Will Spend Your Day:

Grant Writing:

  • Proven record of successful federal grant writing experience. Must supply writing samples of successful grant submissions.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date on current and proposed legislative policy and agendas at the federal and state levels of government. Experience preferred.
  • With part-time grant writer, research and vet potential grant opportunities and craft foundations proposals to secure $625,000 annually.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams all proposal development activities including program design, implementation timelines, outcome measures and tools and budget activities.

Grant Management:

  • Provides training, tools and support to Managers and Senior Management team to ensure quality and quantity of Grant proposals.
  • Coordinates and ensures maintenance of documentation for all proposals and contracts as required.
  • Keeps Senior Management Team and CDO informed of grant opportunities and status of proposal/contract submissions.
  • Administer vetting process with Senior Management Team for new public and private funding opportunities.
  • Oversee implementation and renewal processes for public contracts, including potential negotiations.
  • Serves internally and externally as the primary contact person on issues related to public and private grant administration, compliance, and management.

Foundation Management:

  • Responsible for identifying and secure new potential foundation funding opportunities and retaining existing partners.
  • Collaborates with CDO on pre and post award activities.
  • Collaborates with the PR/Marketing Committee.
  • Organizes and cultivates a semi-annual foundation breakfast, lunch, or reception to communicate with Foundation leaders and cultivates new relationships that will enhance the work of the organization.

Community:

  • Stays abreast of community needs, investigates, and determines appropriate services to be offered by The Center and communicates such to the CDO, CFO and President/CEO.
  • Serves as liaison and/or assigns appropriate staff to community agencies as necessary to develop relationships that ensure availability of services for clients and/or opportunities for collaboration.
  • Develops partnerships within the community.
  • Will represent the agency on behalf of the CDO and President/CEO when necessary.

Agency:

  • Leads special projects related to program expansion and development.
  • Reports to Senior management Team on new standards and foundations impact on the agency.
  • An active member of the agency’s philanthropic initiatives, i.e., annual support, capital campaign, special events.
  • Anything else so deemed necessary by the CDO and President/CEO.
