Med-Medicine

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Grants Assistant for the Department of Medicine. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting Research Administrators with the management of grants and contracts in a large research department. This will include accurately maintaining budget information and personnel funding distributions in the department’s accounting system, updating effort in the University accounting system, and creating and managing the electronic grant files for research grants. This position will also assist in the preparation of reports meetings between the administrators and faculty.

Essential Functions

  • Assists with routine accounting and financial functions for Grants & Contracts.
  • Prepares and organizes routine documentation for applications, progress reports, financial statements, and other related reports; monitors deadlines and compliance with guidelines and regulations.
  • Collects, verifies, and disseminates information and data needed to write grants, contracts, and reports; communicates routine financial information regarding accounts, balances, expenses, and other related funding information.
  • Creates and maintains spreadsheets, records, and databases; maintains contact rosters and email distribution lists.
  • Assists with budget preparations and reviews.

Sedentary position with minimal physical effort.
