Job Title: Fabrication Assistant

Job Description:

We are seeking a Fabrication Assistant to support our manufacturing operations by ensuring efficient material handling, workspace preparation, and machinery operation within our fabrication facility. The Fabrication Assistant will work closely with a team of welders, fabricators, and supervisors to uphold quality standards and meet production deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Transport raw materials, tools, and finished products using forklifts, overhead cranes, or manual lifting equipment as needed.
• Prepare work areas by cleaning debris, organizing tools, and maintaining a safe and orderly workspace.
• Operate basic machinery and hand tools under supervision, including saws, grinders, drills, and cutting torches, to assist in the fabrication process.
• Assist in the assembly and sub-assembly of steel components according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Inspect fabricated components for defects, accuracy, and quality standards; promptly report any issues to supervisors.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve production goals and deadlines.
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts, to ensure optimal performance.
• Assist in loading and unloading steel components onto trucks or shipping containers for transportation.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and regulations related to quality control, safety, and operational guidelines.
  
  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in fabrication or related field is a plus.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
• Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and various hand tools safely and effectively.
• Basic understanding of machinery operation and fabrication techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn and grow in the role.
