Firmware Engineer

Position: Firmware Engineer (2 Openings)

Location: Thousand Oaks, California (West Los Angeles)

Compensation: $150,000 annually

About Us:

Our client, a leading player in the manufacturing industry for SoC products, is actively seeking two adept Firmware Engineers to enrich our Embedded Products Development Team. This dynamic team is dedicated to pioneering advanced features and products for control motion systems and robotics.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement efficient, dependable, and sustainable code for projects pertaining to our embedded servo amplifier platform, working collaboratively within a multi-developer team environment.
2. Analyze customer requirements to articulate engineering specifications and needs.
3. Conduct functional analysis, estimate resource requirements, and define interfaces for firmware modules.
4. Collaborate with software developers to ensure seamless interaction between host and embedded systems.
5. Draft specifications and conduct comprehensive unit testing prior to release and customer evaluation.

Essential Qualifications:

• Over 5 years of experience in embedded firmware development using C/C++.
• Proficiency in memory operations, serial peripherals (SPI, I2C, CAN), and interrupt handling.
• Familiarity with designing low-level device drivers for microcontrollers in real-time environments.
• Ability to interpret and work with electrical schematics.
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency due to ITAR registration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience implementing ISO Data Link layer on at least one real-time 100baseT networking protocol (e.g., ECT, Profinet, UDP, TCP/IP).
• Proficiency in Motor Control or electrical power conversion concepts, including Digital filters, PID Controllers, PWM, ADC, SPI.
• Knowledge of 100baseT networking protocols (UDP, TCP/IP) relevant to motion control.
• Experience in real-time code development for Texas Instruments and ARM processors.
