Engineering Intern/Co-op-Seasonal

Greeneville, TN Location

ENGINEERING INTERN/CO-OP: Experienced level of engineering student who has completed at least 1 year of a college engineering program. Work assignments are varied and may include any combination of work in updating flow charts, work instructions or control plans. Must be able to follow direction, utilize Microsoft Word, Excel and JOST CAD Software.

Hours can be flexible with school schedules within reason.

INTRODUCTION: This position reports to Lead Engineer. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:

• Research and Development. / Product Design & Improvement
• Updating engineering process documentation (Flowcharts, PFMEA’s, control plans).
• Management of assigned projects and engineering activities.
• Ability to utilize Microsoft office and JOST CAD Software.
• Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated but which may be assigned, and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.
  
  
  

REQUIREMENTS:

• Actively working toward an engineering or technical degree, with the intention to pursue a fulltime career in engineering. Must be able to work with others in a team environment.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills in tasks and work.
• Basic skill level in 3D CAD.
• Ability to gain knowledge, interpret and adhere to JOST International Basic Processes.
• Ability to gain detailed product knowledge of slider and fifth wheels.
• Ability to gain detailed process knowledge of welding/machining/assembly.
• Knowledge about TS/IATF16949 requirements preferred but not required.
• Comply with quality, environmental, safety and JOST company policies and procedures.
  
  
  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Work is generally performed in office setting (80%), however some work in the factory may be required to gather information, take measurements, etc. (20%)
• While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, see, hear and frequently required to walk; use hands, reach, stoop, bend, twist, stand and occasionally will be required to lift or move objects up to 50 pounds.
