Energy Data Analyst

Our client is an independent energy supplier based in Buffalo, NY. They specialize in direct sourcing, storage, and distribution of natural gas, electricity, and renewable energy from NY and other regional supply sources.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Energy Data Analyst to join their team. As a leading energy solutions provider, they are dedicated to empowering businesses to optimize their energy usage and lower their costs.

KEY PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

• Analyze energy consumption and invoice data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for large energy users.
• Develop and maintain databases and dashboards to track key performance indicators and metrics.
• Assist with energy consulting services to clients, offering insights and recommendations based on data analysis and industry expertise.
• Generate reports and presentations to communicate results and recommendations to clients and managers.
• Evaluate opportunities in renewable generation development, as well as assist in the management of EnergyMark’s current portfolio of community solar projects.
• Support the Company’s sales and trading team with deal analysis and assessment.
• Provide analytical support for regulatory submissions for various Public Utilities Commissions in multiple states.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
• Interest/experience in data analysis, preferably in the energy or sustainability sector.
• Interest in energy consulting, with a willingness to learn and understand energy markets, regulations, and industry trends.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Knowledge/proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
