We are looking to hire an Editorial Manager, a lead role on our writing team for major household appliance brand blogs and websites. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced editorial lead with a strong copywriting background, digital expertise and a knack for SEO. In this role, your contributions will include writing and editing other writers’ work to ensure the output of compelling, SEO-centric narratives for brands and products, optimized for brand voice and engagement. As you write, edit and conceptualize, you'll navigate through a variety of brand voices, enhancing the breadth and impact of your work. This role is hybrid to our Chicago or St. Joseph, MI office.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a team member:

•Write and edit high-quality engaging content that aligns with SEO best practices.

•Support editing content end-to-end, evaluating it against client goals and quality, performing expert copy and line editing as well as proofreading.

•Flex between brands frequently and seamlessly.

•Develop creative that’s relevant to the consumer at different points in their shopping journey and informed by strategic insights.

•Be a stickler for detail, creating to a high standard of output in a fast-paced environment.

•Manage client-requested revisions.


As a lead:

•Bring savvy flexibility as you function both independently and as part of a broader team.

•Provide editorial feedback and revision requests to writers to strengthen each piece and ensure they meet the assignment brief and content guidelines.

•Lead SEO editorial initiatives with an instinct for digital optimization.

•Oversee freelance and full-time copywriters, ensuring their work reflects the brand's voice and project objectives while fostering their confidence and skill development.


WHAT YOU BRING

•5+ years experience creating content for retail / D2C brands required, primarily in agencies.

•An expert grasp of language to create clear communication for any audience.

•SEO savvy with a strong editorial background and proven digital/blog experience — strong plus if you have e-commerce / D2C experience.

•A deep understanding of how to apply brand guidelines to ensure a strong and consistent voice at every touchpoint.
