About Gbc
The Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) is the leading voice for the private sector in the Baltimore region, providing insightful economic and civic leadership to drive collective impact. Composed of more than 400 organizations, including large, mid-size, and small companies, nonprofits, foundations, and educational and healthcare institutions, the GBC is dedicated to fostering the prosperity of the Baltimore region.
In 2022, the GBC merged with the Economic Alliance, hiring new leadership after more than two decades. Initially, in May 2023, the GBC announced a multi-year agenda to position the organization to: 1) create and lead an economic path for the Greater Baltimore region, 2) aggressively pursue game-changing opportunities, 3) collaborate to transform the region’s transportation, infrastructure, and public safety challenges to foster a more equitable region.
Following that announcement, GBC initiated an 11-month process to develop our 10-year economic plan that culminated in May 2024, with the launch of All In | 2035 that layouts GBC’s plan for the region. All In | 2025 is a forward-looking approach that reflects GBC’s desire to ignite transformational change and to spur new regional collaboration.
One of the Plan’s growth opportunity sectors prioritizes the EDA’s designating the Baltimore Region as one of 31 new Tech Hubs out of 400 applicants across the US. This accomplishment opened the door for GBC to compete for Phase II funding of up to $70 million. The designation provides GBC an opportunity to galvanize the Baltimore region to invest and collaborate in support of our region’s globally ambitious tech hub community.
