Position Summary

The Director, HR Technology & Enterprise Architecture will lead the strategic planning and execution of technology solutions that support and enhance the Human Resources (HR) function. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of HR technologies, enterprise architecture, and integration with other business applications.

The Director will work closely with HR leaders, IT teams, and external partners to:

  • Deliver innovative, scalable, and secure HR technology solutions that drive business value.
  • Control resources to deliver IT architecture (integrated process, applications, data and technology) solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards.
  • Develop strategy for technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications.
  • Lead department in assessing the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies.


Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive HR technology strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide visionary leadership to define the future state of HR technology architecture.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership to understand and prioritize business needs and translate them into technology solutions.


Technology Architecture

  • Design and maintain the HR technology architecture, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and standards.
  • Oversee the integration of HR systems with other business applications, including ERP, CRM, and financial systems.
  • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of HR technology solutions.


Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with HR leaders, IT peers, and business stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-technical audiences.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on HR technology issues and opportunities.


Governance and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including data privacy and security requirements.
  • Establish and enforce governance policies and procedures for HR technology.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure the integrity and security of HR systems.


Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing high-level strategies for key Architecture schematics and designs, subsequently outlining and communicating design project plans and assignments.
  • Applying working and functional knowledge of architecture practice, architecture documentation, and data technologies to capture the current state data architecture and lead all aspects of target state design and implementation.
  • Performing technical planning, architecture development, and modification of specifications to ensure architectural integrity of the company's IT structures.
  • Directing processes to ensure data platforms have company-standard Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) practices, crisis management, and incident response, conducting leading exercises including validations and changes.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging best practices and lessons learned.
  • Driving the adoption of new technologies and processes that enhance HR operations and employee experience.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally in building software applications by using relevant development languages and applying knowledge of systems, services, and tools appropriate for the business area.
  • Building strong relationships with HR leaders, IT peers, and business stakeholders.
  • Communicating complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-technical audiences.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on HR technology issues and opportunities.


You will be working in a hybrid role (3 days a week onsite) in one of the CVS Health or Aetna offices in Hartford, CT; Chicago, IL; Wellesley, MA; Irving, TX; Scottsdale, AZ or Cumberland, RI.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in technology and enterprise architecture roles.
  • 5+ years’ experience leading HR technology initiatives (Strategic Leadership, Architecture, Stakeholder Management).
  • 5+ years’ experience successfully implementing and integrating HR technologies, such as HCM, ATS, LMS, and payroll systems.
  • 3+ years’ experience with HR technology platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, etc.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting)

  • Adept at collaboration and teamwork
  • Mastery of problem solving and decision making skills
  • Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.


Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$144,200.00 - $288,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
