Job Summary
Acts as collaborative member of the clinical team in providing continuity of and quality patient care. Responsible for registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and answering of telephone. Initiates patient care assessments, gathers vital signs, prepares patient and exam room for procedures, and collects specimens. Provides patient education and support as needed to assist physician, patient and family. Returns patient phone calls.
Education
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
High school diploma or GED required. Must be a Certified Medical Assistant.
Experience
Minimum of one year clinic experience in clinic setting. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Previous customer service experience preferred. Typing, word processing, computer, and telephone skills preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities
Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be able to use computer, fax machine and copy machine. Must be detail oriented and work well in a team environment. Experience with GPMS/EMR is desired. BCLS must be received within the orientation period.
