The AVP, Technology Cloud Strategy leads a cross-functional team to identify gaps in our life cycle management, automation and turn up processes for our cloud-based infrastructure and make recommendations on gap closure. Drive operational efficiencies that deliver good performance at reasonable cost. Over the course of 12-18 months, identify steps to be taken to ensure solutions built on private cloud infrastructure evolve to take full advantage of next generation capabilities. Some examples that need to be evaluated and/or defined are:
Repeatable process to validate Software enhancements / OS critical patches – e.g., to be tested on all hardware ODMs
Repeatable process to validate firmware changes – Server (DCC), Management Switch (DCM), Fabric/Line card (DCF and DCP).
Repeatable process to manage hardware Product Change Notification (PCNs)
Process to address hardware failures
Process to plan and manage end of life/end of support (EOL/EoS) across SW (NOS), Hardware, Optics, Server
Repeatable/scalable processes to execute functional systems testing / Unit Testing / Scale characterization / Performance characterization – With Automation to alleviate repetition when parts of software changes
Process for Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Support for hardware & warehousing / Spares Depot
Repeatable process to do resizing of components
Repeatable and scalable processes for MOP validation and update with scale/requirements changing
Repeatable and scalable process to analyze Optical and electrical interconnect changes and characterization
Processes related to the coordination of service contracts across disaggregated components to insure consistency (server, Mgmt switch, Fabric, NOS)
Establish hardened, secure and reliable architecture
