Managers are literally guessing about the resources they will need and the work that they will be doing ten months later. Typically, within the first few months of the year, the plan becomes irrelevant as the landscape changes from new projects and priorities or unexpected delays and changes in resources. This talk reviews how an IT management team of a small financial services firm took a conference room, colored note cards, and their experience with Scrum and Kanban to improve their throughput, increase visibility, and improve coordination across IT.
