About
I started Buffington Law Firm in 1998 (originally Buffington & Bowling, LLP; converted to a professional corporation in 2005) as a full-service litigation firm for businesses and individuals. Our goal is to deliver "big firm" service at small firm prices and to provide aggressive representation. The Firm's practice areas include commercial and real estate disputes, investment fraud, and will and trust disputes. I am a licensed CPA as well as an attorney, and try to bring my business experience to bear in order to fashion the appropriate solution for our clients' legal problems.
In any legal dispute, the first hope is always to try to negotiate a settlement, and our Firm is very experienced as negotiators. In my experience, however, the best negotiated outcomes occur when the other side knows that we are prepared, if necessary, to try a case all the way to verdict. We have a proven track record both in State and Federal courts, as well as various arbitration forums, as trial lawyers. We have won verdicts in the high six-figures against major corporations and successfully defended or brought suits against parties represented by some of the largest law firms in Southern California.
Another service that our Firm offers is our Corporate Counseling Program. For a nominal retainer fee or on an hourly basis we provide counseling on general business legal matters. The basic notion, of course, is to help clients avoid situations which might lead to litigation by structuring transactions in a manner that avoids legal pitfalls.
Anyone who calls our office may speak, free of charge with no obligation, to an experienced attorney to determine if there is a legal problem with which we can be helpful. All calls are handled by an actual attorney.
