    Happily served a one-year term in this volunteer leadership position. I was responsible for coordinating an active public relations and publicity program for District 38 of Toastmasters International. I worked to establish and maintain communication between the district and our members, between the district and the public, and increase overall awareness of Toastmasters. District 38 is home to over 4,000 members in 150 community and corporate Toastmasters clubs in Eastern Pennsylvania and Southern and Central New Jersey. We earned recognition as Distinguished District 38 for six consecutive years. I created quarterly newsletters, served as Facebook and Twitter administrator, and helped develop Facebook best practices for our 150+ clubs.

The mission of this not-for-profit professional development association is to improve the quality and effectiveness of technical communication for audiences worldwide. -2012-2016: I serve on the STC Intercom editorial advisory panel committee to identify content that informs readers of trends and best practices in technical communication. -2012-2013: I served as international judge and judge team lead for the 2012-2013 International Summit Awards. -2011-2012: I served as the Competitions Publicity Chair and competition advisor for the Greater NY and Philadelphia TechComm Regional TechComm Competition. -2010: I earned the honorary rank of Associate Fellow, which recognizes 15 years of distinction in the field of technical communication. Only 2% of the Society earn this distinction. -2011: I earned the international volunteer recognition honor of Distinguished Chapter Service Award. -November 2011: My article, co-authored with Ann Grove, "Virtual Success: Best Practices for Working Remotely" was published in Intercom, the international magazine for the Society for Technical Communication (STC).
