What do you do if your workload is overwhelming and you need to prove your readiness for a promotion?
To add to your point, Kirsten, sometimes the person most beneficial to the company is the one who identifies where NOT to do work. We need be better about quantifying cost savings, efficiencies, and reallocated resources when evaluating an individual's impact on their organization. Sometimes the most useful person is the one who goes, "Hold up. I heard another team say they're doing the same thing. Let me connect you."

And be honest about your blind spots - these are areas for growth, not weaknesses. The problem comes when there's an expectation from your new leaders that you already know everything because you weren't forthcoming.
