While it might seem that summer has just started, back-to-school season is almost upon us. Sending your kids back to school comes with a cost, whether they will be attending elementary school, high school or college. Before embarking on back-to-school shopping it is important to take the time to prepare a “shopping list” and more importantly to set a budget.

With 35 years at Wedbush, we are honored to recognize Tom Packer in our Service Awards Spotlight. Known as the ‘Iron Man of Anchorage’, Tom is the first to arrive at the office every day, setting an example with his work ethic. His dedication and commitment are truly inspiring. Moreover, Tom is a pillar of his community, volunteering countless hours at his church, and embodying the spirit of service and generosity. Here’s to Tom Packer: a man of unwavering commitment, a superfan, a community servant, a dedicated professional, and a loving father. Thank you, Tom!

Harkening back to our founder, Ed Wedbush, we celebrated our 69th Annual Founder's Day -- a nod to our entrepreneurial spirit and firmwide dedication to excellence. It was a day to remember with inspiring commentary from our EVPs, a chance to connect, and great company. We celebrated accomplishments across all departments of our firm and recognized our Feldhorn Scholarship winners, our Jean Wedbush Award winner, Lou Joven Dietrich, our Excellence Award winner, Cindy Beadles, and our Onward and Upward Award winner, Geoff Bland. We wouldn't be where we are today without the people who make it all possible, and this event celebrated the foundation of service and care that our colleagues uphold. Here's to many more years of moving #OnwardAndUpward!

👋 Meet Jeffrey Pietrzak! He’s an Economics major with minors in History and Political Science at Villanova University, and is currently interning with our Compliance team! Why Wedbush? Jeffrey chose Wedbush because of its strong emphasis on learning for interns and the consistently friendly interactions with colleagues. Community Contributions: On campus, Jeffrey serves as the Treasurer of the Economics Society, plays violin at events with the Villanova Chamber Orchestra, and volunteers for Villanova’s hosting of the Pennsylvania Special Olympics. Interests: He enjoys reading classics, hiking, playing soccer, and spending quality time with friends and family. 🔍 Fun Fact: In the 2024 Spring Semester, Jeffrey studied abroad in Cambridge, England!  #MeetTheInterns #WedbushInternship

👋 Meet Mariana Villalovoz! She’s a double major in Economics and Environmental Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara and is currently interning with our Wealth Management team! Why Wedbush? Mariana chose Wedbush because of its close-knit community and the opportunity to collaborate with diverse people across various roles. Community Contributions: As the Blue Water Task Force committee chair at her university’s Surfrider Foundation chapter, Mariana conducts weekly ocean water testing, shares findings through social media, and leads beach clean-ups for the surfing community. Interests: Mariana is an avid surfer, ocean enthusiast, and musician. She plays the guitar and keyboard, writes music, and loves traveling—especially exploring Baja, Mexico. 🔍 Fun Fact: Mariana studied Economics abroad in Madrid, and she highly recommends the experience! #MeetTheInterns #WedbushInternship

Equity Research Analyst, Tom Nikic, CFA initiates coverage on Canada Goose Holdings, Inc. (GOOS) at #OUTPERFORM and Columbia Sportswear Co (COLM) at #NEUTRAL. While COLM's business is a "solid brand in a sub-industry (outdoor/active) that should be a long-term grower," GOOS "has become one of the most un-loved names in our space" after coming off of a "very volatile performance in FY24, exacerbated by a challenging macro/weather environment." For our next Service Awards spotlight, we recognize Astgik Aleksanian's impressive 40 years at Wedbush. Astgik consistently brings a positive attitude to every interaction, is a team player and a pleasure to work with. She has been an asset to our Multi Asset Prime Services (MAPS) team for over the last four decades and her contributions are deeply appreciated by all. 👋 Meet Benjamin Weydert, a Finance major at the University of Colorado Boulder, who is currently interning with our Wealth Management team! Why Wedbush? Ben was drawn to Wedbush due to its workplace environment. Community Contributions: Ben’s been active in Greek life on campus and has also participated in mentorship programs. 👋 Meet Kevin Ruple, a Finance major with a Quantitative Economics minor at Rutgers University, who is currently interning with our Equity Research team! Why Wedbush? Kevin was drawn to Wedbush because of its notable Equity Research team, where they constantly challenge him to learn, think independently, and take on more responsibilities. Community Contributions: Kevin’s community involvement includes volunteering at Cranford Family Care in his hometown and fundraising for the Embrace Kids Foundation at Rutgers.
