About us
We are UnidosUS, the largest national Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States, formerly known as the National Council of La Raza (NCLR). Our mission is to build a stronger America by creating opportunities for the Latino community. To achieve this, we conduct applied research, policy analysis, and advocacy, providing a Latino perspective in key areas such as civil rights and immigration, education, health, housing & financial empowerment, racial equity, voting & political empowerment, and workforce development. Through #AffiliatesUnidos, our network of affiliated community-based organizations (CBOs), we reach millions of Latinos each year across the United States and Puerto Rico. We provide our Affiliates with capacity-building assistance to improve their work at the state and local level to advance opportunities for individuals and families.

Our Board member, Dr. Vincent Guilamo-Ramos, served as part of the committee for the new report by The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine "Ending Unequal Treatment: Strategies to Achieve Equitable Health Care and Optimal Health for All." This report follows the landmark 2003 "Unequal Treatment: Confronting Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health Care." report, which confirmed racial and ethnic health disparities in the US healthcare system. The new findings highlight persistent inequities driven by systemic racism and provide actionable recommendations for achieving equitable healthcare for all. Congratulations to Dr. Guilamo-Ramos and the committee for their crucial work in advancing health equity! https://bit.ly/4eOB2OQ #UnidosUS #HealthEquity

Last week at Cerritos College, we gathered with education advocates to discuss key issues impacting Latino students in higher education. These issues included completion rates, securing pathways toward economic mobility and dwindling Latino enrollment. Our Summit worked to elevate solutions that ensure Latino students get to college, stay in college and go on to benefit from the hard work they put in. We thank all the organizations and partners who were a part of this gathering: Los Angeles Pierce College California Community Foundation Lumina Foundation Cerritos College Rio Hondo College Foundation for the Los Angeles Community Colleges Orange Coast College California State University-San Bernardino Santa Ana College Los Angeles Mission College GPSN ECMC Foundation Coastline College The White House #UnidosUS
