Last week we “linked” up with our friends at Airlink, Inc. at the United Airlines headquarters in Chicago. Airlink is a global humanitarian organization that partners with non-profits, forwarders and airlines to provide critical aid to communities in crisis. Together with Airlink we have already sent 35 shipments this year to 23 countries and assisted more than 1.3 million people. Thanks to Sandra Walter, Stephanie Steege, Dawn Segura, Helen Kristensen and Pulin Thakkar (not pictured) for meeting together to talk about our 15-year partnership. It was a very productive meeting and we are look forward to working together even closer in the future!

We’ve seen devastating scenes of wreckage in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, after the worst flooding to hit the region in 80 years earlier this spring. The flooding has displaced over half a million people. As a global airline, we are uniquely capable of responding to disasters and crisis situations by transporting volunteers and relief supplies to impacted areas of the world. Todd Freeman Freeman, Board Chair of Airlink, Inc., highlights United's support for Airlink's Brazil Floods Response. United transported 22 pallets of Family Emergency Kits free of charge on behalf of Airlink's nonprofit partner, GlobalMedic (David McAntony Gibson Foundation). Exciting updates from the recent United Cargo APAC regional annual conference in Hong Kong! The event, led by Hazel Ip and Mirco Renfer, brought together United Cargo employees and representatives from the APAC region for two days of productive discussions. Special thanks to the HKG Cargo team for their hard work in organizing the successful conference. With a focus on preparing for a strong post-Covid year, the conference emphasized an expanded nonstop flight portfolio and featured insightful presentations from guest speakers.
