The dust has settled a bit post-SHRM's controversial (and rightly so) decision to rebrand DEI to I&D, essentially erasing 'Equity'. I've been planning to highlight why equity is specifically vital in building trauma informed cultures. Recent events, including discourse about the election and Vice President Harris as a Black and South Asian woman; as well as the killing of Sonya Massey only re-iterate the importance of this message. In the article, I also address that common misperceptions feed anti-equity program rhetoric because we can call people in without an unnecessary rebrand. #traumainformed #traumainformedworkplaces #hrcommunity #equity

If you ask most Americans, they'll express some anxiety around the election, especially considering recent events. And the data backs this up. In May of this year, a YouGov survey highlighted that 60% of those surveyed felt 'somewhat' or 'very' anxious about the election. Researchers also have examined past elections and noted a correlation between the timing of elections and anxiety, especially for those more politically active individuals. So, if you are having election season anxiety, you aren't alone and there are some great resources to support you (and your teams). Notably, I love this free resource specifically for election anxiety from the team at Headspace. We all have outside stressors- elections, holidays, projects, that can amp up our anxiety. I'd love to hear from you in the comments on how you work through higher anxiety moments if you are willing to share! #anxiety #traumainformed #tramainformedworkplaces #politicsatwork #hrcommunity
