When you want to have an impact, sometimes it's the quality and not the quantity. Last week, we had the pleasure to gather a group of connectors in the #agtech industry for an intimate conversation on the US #agriculture market: 🌵 opportunities and barriers for Israeli companies 🌱 market trends that can influence your business 🌿 go-to-market strategies that work ☘️ partners, supporters and programs that you need to know Our main takeaways are: ⚠️In the Ag market it is better to focus on a small number of customers to establish validation. The farms in the US are bigger than any other experience that Israeli startups can get from Israeli customers, hence sometimes it is enough to get 1-2 US customers to keep your team busy and gain experience. ⚠️Adjust your product to meet your customer's needs. Listen to their pain points and try to solve them rather than try attempt to sell the product design that you already have. ⚠️Show your customers their ROI to start a conversation. ROI offers your customers a crystal-clear financial justification for their investments, enabling them to weigh the anticipated benefits. ⚠️The CA drought is no longer a "problem". If you are in the water management business, you need to seek a penetration strategy that does not assume that CA suffers from a drought. ⚠️Organic growing is not economical to the farmers. Although more people tend to eat organic food, most farmers complain about the cost of converting their farms and hence will avoid doing it. ⚠️There are many organizations in CA that research, develop, invest, support, pilot and consult companies and farmers in order to help the ecosystem provide food security and safety. You should visit and engage with them to grow your network, market understanding and market access. An Italian, an Israeli and an American are sitting on one stage to discuss the road from #biotech to #techbio 🧬 Our speakers shared their views on the developments and opportunities in the expansion of the biotech industry in terms of applying science to manufacturing, scale, efficiency, and distribution.
